Fund Raising

The Ed Posh Scholarship Fund exists through the generosity of individual contributions, volunteer efforts and fundraising event participation. The Fund's volunteer Board of Directors has set a short term goal to award four renewable scholarships each year, and a long term goal of helping the scholarship fund become a self-sustaining endowment.

There are a variety of ways to lend support to the Scholarship Fund:

Individual Donation

Donations directly to the Scholarship Fund can be sent to the Ed Posh Scholarship Fund, Inc., 485 Winchell Way, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Donations are tax-deductible.

The Ed Posh Scholarship Shootout

In 1995, the Board established the Annual Ed Posh Scholarship Shootout as a major source of fundraising. Each year, more than 200 golfers participate in this fun and exciting event and nearly 500 people attend the Shootout Dinner and Party. The Shootout Tournament is an 18-hole, 2-Best Ball Foursome. Contestants compete in a Closest-To-The-Pin Contest on all four Par 3 holes. Eight golfers who win the Closest-To-The-Pin Contests advance to the Shootout Finals. The Shootout finalists play a 150 yard shot to the 18th green. The closest-to-the-pin in the finals wins $1,000 cash.

A Dinner and Party are held immediately following the Shootout Tournament. Golfers and guests enjoy dinner, musical entertainment and a silent auction. The event’s past silent auctions have featured many exceptional gifts including golf rounds at some of the top public and private courses in the Chicago area. All proceeds from these events benefit the Ed Posh Scholarship Fund.

Shootout Sponsorship

The Shootout event provides numerous sponsorship opportunities for businesses. Contributions can be in the form of a cash contribution, services or merchandise donated for the auction or raffle, or as a sponsor.

Scholarship Support through the Internet

The Ed Posh Scholarship web site provides additional opportunities for supporters to contribute. Contributions can be made through inkind partnerships established with iGive.com. These partnerships allow for supporters to contribute to the fund by shopping for merchandise online with a portion of their purchase going to the fund, and donating goods for auction with all proceeds going to the fund. Additional support options are available through web site sponsorship and affiliation.
