16 high school scholars collectively receiving $80,000 in assistance for college

Ed Posh Scholarship Announces Four New Scholarships for 2011

Since 1995 we have provided nearly $460,000 in scholarships to 66 Posh Scholars and 49 have graduated. In 2011 there will be 16 scholars in school collectively receiving $40,000 in assistance.

Cass Hoffmeister, chairman of the scholarship committee announced the four new 2011 scholars, saying "It was a pleasure meeting so many well qualified candidates. Selecting the final four was a difficult task."

The new scholars for 2011 are:

John Filip

John Filip
a senior at Glenbard South High School, will attend Ball State University and is seeking a degree in Actuarial Science.

Michael Norton

Michael Norton
a senior at Glenbard South, will attend the University of Illinois to pursue a degree in Business/Social Policy.

Cassandra Powers

Cassandra Powers
a senior from Glenbard West High School, will attend Hope College to study Occupational Therapy with a minor in Spanish.

Joanna Szewczyk

Joanna Szewczyk
a senior at Glenbard West, plans to pursue a career in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois.
